Ipad 2 keeps losing sound in Netflix app?

I've used the netflix app for months and its been fine, but recently it will randomly lose sound midway through. I'll pause it and the sound will sometimes come back, and sometimes I have to restart the app and entire iPad. When I try to hit the sound buttons on the sides, usually when the logo shows up on the screen the sound is frozen in the middle, it won't go up or down.
When I go into music, sometimes my songs will play, and every once in a while they won't, that's usually when I have to just restart my iPad.
I've tried updating my netflix app
Restarting my iPad, the app, etc.
And no, the side mute switch isn't on.
