In order to prove that the Bible was scientifically correct (while not a science

compendium), and so inspired? by God, a Jehova's witness cited the following verse:

"He (the Lord) stretches out his heavens over empty space. He hangs the earth on nothing whatsoever."

After this, the same Jehova's witness told me:

"In the 20th century, an astronaut from space could see this was true, but how could (I don't remember the name of the said prophet) know this more than 2 thousand years ago?..."

Well,,, although they might be wrong in some other things, at first he did seem to have a point here... Didn't he?...
I did some research on the Internet, and I learned that this passage refers to Job 26:7.

And apparently, the literal version is:

"He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing".
