Kicker 10" Solo-Baric L7 vs 10" MTX Road Thunder?

Looking to upgrade subs,I have two 10'' mtx subs in a box under my backseat.
There seems to be allot of hype about solo's and wanted to look into them, would the solos make enough difference if I swapped just the subs? also would I have to get a different box or could I modify the one I have?
My amp is a Phoenix Digital PD-392B 2 Channel Bridgeable Amp. I know its not impressive but I plan on upgrading it when money allows.
Also if I got the solos, what amp would be recommended?
