Samsung Galaxy S4 or Google Nexus 4?

So I am getting my first smart phone and I was given $450 for the phone, (I am buying the phone, not a two year contract.) and the Nexus is in my price range ($350) while the Galaxy isn't. However I do have the money to buy the Galaxy, but i am hesitant. (I found a galaxy for $515) I want to know if the Galaxy is worth it and will last or it the Nexus is a better investment. I really would like to hear experiences you have had with the phones if any. And if you regret your buy, wish you had gotten a better phone, or are extremely happy with your phone. (I have also contemplated the HTC One and if any of you have information regarding that it is very welcome here!)
