How to work as a flying doctor in Australia?

I am a British medical student, planning an elective. I would like to find out a bit more about the possibility of doing my elective as a flying doctor (or something similar) but can only find information for Australian students. Please can anybody point me in the right direction or suggest similar alternatives if it is not possible.
(electives are available for medical students at Australian universities. However, I have struggled to find any info for foreign medical students)
