is there anyway to get a static ip address off vodafone without paying for it?

the reason i need this is for online gaming and i rang vodafone today and they said they would want a 1000 euro for a static ip and then hung up the fone on me.please no stupid answer's like change provider as i have thought of this already and it is not an option.i already tried to force my modem to take a static ip and it didn't work.if you have any other option to improve connection to the ps3 it would be much appreciated. take into consideration that i have tryed almost everything from opening ports to entering settings manually..........thanks in advance ian

You shouldn't need a static IP for gaming.

If you really do, you can fake it with a dynamic DNS. This will point the traffic to your dynamically assigned IP address. search for dynamic dns for several vendors, including some free ones.

You cannot find free Static IP's anywhere as far as I know.Since this do not change it is more costlier than the Dynamic IP's.Also like @Lan has said if you avail a static IP for online gaming it is going to be more difficult.To improve connectivity in the online gaming you can use VPN.VPN software allows you to join private networks as though you're sitting at a local computer on that respective network.To choose such a VPN service you can go through the reviews at Lifehacker.com . You can check for the changed IP using Ip-details.com and confirm it.
