Will a Pre-Paid T-Mobile Sim card work in a regular T-Mobile Phone?

Hi, I have a samsung gravity 2, I had it on a unlimited talk/text plan, well my dad says I don't deserve a phone so I'm off to pay it myself which i can't rack up 100$ a month so I want to get a prepaid sim, will this work and if it does can someone recommend cheap plans I kinda want web too btw also can someone tell me where I could buy it cheap too?!
