Unlike Cabin Fever and Hostel was Aftershock not meant to be fun but more like an enlightenment?

of just the extent of the terrible things that can happen on this earth, like an eye opener to make us conscious of it? That's the impression I got when I saw it, that in contrast to fun, thrill and entertainment this one above all was meant more as an enlightener/lesson.
