I listed to Freaky Styley earlier today for the first time in ages. Good times. A+ for 'The Brothers Cup'.

This album actually got really good reviews. People judge because of the name.

Admittadly the one track I heard was trash, but I'm definitly going to give it a shot.

their progression to some sort of prog sludge hybrid is impressive in terms of growth, but i still prefer their initial EPs to the later full lengths

I don't think it is, especially if you want to put RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana into that category.
