The Real Thing is incredibly dated but it was a HUGE album in my time and turned a lot of people onto other forms of music.

Why don`t you just listen to the whole album instead of selected songs, its far more rewarding.

It's really not that hard to support. Both banRAB play dull radio post-grunge except the difference is one has more guitar wanking and the other is fronted by a Chris Cornell wannabe.

The only standout on The Gaslight Anthem's "American Slang" is the title track and it doesn't even stand out that much.

I can't find Portishead's Third anywhere. All the links I've found appear to be dead or invalid or whatever.
