    They do in many places, it's called private voucher programs. Similar to scholarships.

    There is no "option" in the health care debacle. You have to pay for the government crap even if you buy your own insurance so some lazy dweeb can get health care before you.

    I do agree that we need to get the government out of education, though. There is NOTHING in the Constitution of the United States that allows the federal government to interfere there, either. We can all see what has happened to education since the federal government took over. Watch for the same thing to happen to health care.

    There are public and private options for education. They're called public schools and private schools. Somehow the existence of public schools has not yet driven the private schools out of existence.

    I think all schools should be privatized. I pay 15,000/year in property taxes and 95% of that goes to the LA unified school district - the worst schools in the nation. Nobody who pays those property taxes in my neighborhood even sends their children to public school. Why should we foot the bill for a failed system populated by mexicans of illegals who bring the school system down? That money would be better spent repaving the crappy roads and giving us tax breaks.
