Would the "cold" accessory shoe on a Panasonic HDC-TM300K hold an Azden SMX-10...

...microphone? I am looking at purchasing the HDC-TM300K and its specifications say that it comes with a cold accessory shoe. I make films that need to have audio fit for competition screenings, therefore I need to a shotgun mic on the camera. Does anyone know if the show for the HDC-TH300K will hold the mic? I understand that because it is not a hot shoe the mic will not plug directly in to it. What I need to know is if the shoe is large enough to handle the microphone because Panasonic doesn't offer any photos of the shoe.

Many of the small handheld digi cams have smaller shoes than the pro cameras. I would take a guess that the Azden SMX-10 microphone would have a pro-size foot. To be sure, I would contact Azden.
