How is African culture different from african american culture?

I'm interested in knowing how much different African culture is from the culture I was raised in and experience. What are the local beliefs there like? What sort of clothing do they dress in? What are the attitudes that they have toward each other like? I'm an AA teen who isn't really interested in american culture that much and I'm interested in other people's cultures. What are some languages and celebrations there? Brief cover history? If you can give me information as to where the aspects of the culture is commonly found, if not throughout africa I'd appreciate it. Books about African culture would be appreciated
