    Which BEV receiver to buy?

Hi I have two BEV receivers, a 3100 & 2700. 2700 does not have any timer capability. Thinking of replacing it with either a 3100 or a 4100. After reading all the comments on the new owner section for 4100 (esp regarding the guide), just looking for advice of whether I should go in for a 4100 (at 99/-) or a 3100. Cannot find 3100/- for sale anywhere except auction sites, and the price is nearly the same as that of the 4100. Any help would be most appreciated

The 4100 is the current standard SD receiver. Unless you're renting, you may have trouble finding anything else. I'd say go with a 4100.

4100 also has Digital output for hooking up to Amp for Surround Sound.

Just do not place on top of an older type TV, there are interference issues.

I think you can get 3100's at Bell World Stores, some are selling refurbished ones at $49.

Might also be worth looking for a used 5900 PVR, Can be found for $150, then add Dish Care to your subscription, $6 Per month, that will cover any problems with your 5900 and your old receivers too........

if you have never had a PVR you will not regret it......

Future Shop have 2 x 3100's for sale as a package for $70.....

I would wait until the receiver breaks to take the Diah Care. Then add it...and 3 weeks later claim the unit defective. 6$/month, 72$/year is way too much according to me if it doesn't break. Once i is replaced you have the choice to cancel the insurance (a penalty of 35$ if you didn't had it for year) or keep it throught the rest of the year

The insurance will also cover your existing receivers...
