BEV dish in a Toronto highrise condo without SW exposure?

    Hi everyone,

Im moving to a downtown Toronto appartment that has a NE exposure; I know a SW exposure is needed to get BEV, but my wife has said some of her friends have told her that they have BEV and the signal is received by repeaters/it being bounced of other buildings.

I find this hard to believe, but I want to know my options. Bells condo service isnt attractive without HD and Rogers has said they can provide their full services, so its Rogers if I cant get BEV satellite.

    Thanks.

... and Look TV does not, and never has, offered HD. Never mind they are likely about to go out of business.

It won't help today, but it's likely that sometime in the next year some Toronto condo/apartment dwellers will have a chance to try ExpressVu TV For Condos w. HD. Bell executives repeated today at the company AGM that this is on its way. If your condo already gets some form of this product, you may be among the early folks offered it in HD as well. I also live facing NW, and Bell's phone line TV is available in the neighbourhood, but not in my building. Like you, without HD its a non-starter; but I would be interested in checking it out when it arrives, and arrives in HD.

The people my wife mentioned must be on the BEV for condos then. I called Bell the other day and HD is not yet available the CSR said, and didnt offer a timeline other than its in the works. Rogers it is then.
    Thanks.

Check your condominium by-laws or declarations. Some condominium corporations or strata corporations do not permit satellite dishes because they are unsightly. Better to check now before you get into trouble.

Also, some condo buildings will allow dishes on the rooftops. Never hurts to ask the condo exec?
