There's always lots of limecopied versions coming out every year. After all LW's code is open source. They are attempting to undermine LW's generosity by in return by upping the ultrapeer connections. A nice thank you to the developers who made the code available to them. The code is specified as providing 3 ultrapeers, going beyond that .. well .. shall I put a version out next week, Peerless a version a week later, Birdy a week after that, Remoc a week later, 6_pac a few days later. ... what's the point of it. Somewhere the idea of 'cheating' LW came into the picture. Despite they provide the code free.
Why not all of us put out a version of LW pro with our own custom names. To put LW out of business. Then LW closes. Then ... then ... where's the code going to develop? Where will the gnutella network go from there ... ? Then in 5 years time people will still be rotating around 5 year old code.
No need to google for LW alternatives ... there's thousands out there I can assure you.
hmmm....the Peerless
Very True, there is no need for lime wire alternatives. But I'm guilty I use Mp3 Rocket for its extra features.
