I was recently hired, alongside several others, to photograph people in costume at an event. We all had to share ONE background to shoot against, so only one person could take pictures at a time. Each photographer had to find people to photograph and bring him or her to the background, then take their picture. Here's my issue...when I would finish photographing someone, I found another photographer frequently lurking over my shoulder taking HIS version of my shots. This bothered me because I worked hard convincing those people to go to the background location, etc, and now he essentially has a duplicate of my shot. Only the best shots were chosen to be displayed online, so of course, I was hoping to have the best and most unique shots. Is this poor etiquette on this other photographer's part, or just the way it is?
