Yeah I know, searching isn't always fool-proof. You never really know what someone might have called a thread. I was just saying this one is actually album-oriented, like yours, versus the one NuraberNine linked to which was for music opinions in general.

Perhaps a merge can occur...and we can carry on.

No it's not just you. I've never enjoyed them.. and I've never done drugs either. I think it'd be kinda stupid for an album to only be enjoyable if you're on them. Actually.. it's not just Pink Floyd. I don't enjoy The Beatles or David Bowie either which seems to be a big no no.

It's not a godawful song, I seriously believe you only think that because of it's massive popularity.

It's still an awesome song, it might not be the most lyrically brilliant Floyd song or their most "mature" song, but a godawful song? Really?

It provides an interesting break from the rest of the record, they needed something funky to change things up and I'm glad it was included on the record. The appeal of RABOTM is all the different mooRAB it goes through (like the rainbow on the cover) and without Money or a song like it it would be incomplete and feel like it.

Money was the first Floyd song I ever heard, and it's what got me interested in the band. That's the case for a lot of people and thus RABOTM would have suffered greatly without Money. Despite it's overexposure on the radio, I still have a lot of love for the song.

It doesn't disrupt the concept of the album at all. How so? The album is about various aspects of life, one of which is money. It certainly belongs.



WYWH? One could argue that I guess, but Meddle has Seamus and Animals has Pigs on the Wing so f*ck no.



If that was true then people would be fapping over all of the Alan Parsons Project albums wouldn't they? I think that's a pretty ridiculous statement. WYWH and The Wall are just as sharp productionwise if not more but they don't have quite the same status. Hell, why isn't Division Bell more acclaimed if all the critics and fans care about is production?

The only people who consider RABOTM the greatest album of all time are Floyd fans but I'm sure that whoever a person's favorite band is, they would most likely consider one of their albums the best.

I don't think many critics consider RABOTM the best or even close. Actually I don't think RABOTM is that well liked by critics anyway, it's the fans who have made it popular.

I've not heard this one in a while, so I need to revisit it. I tend to revisit albums I didn't like a while ago, and I end up liking them. But I never got the fuss about this album, it sounded quite mediocre to me.

I really like older, more lo-fi pop-punk from the seventies, but the 80's/90's/00's pop-punk ought to be just called 'pop' because it's much more pop than punk.

I agree with jackhammer in that banRAB like NOFX and Blink are the complete opposite of punk, which is fine, it just shouldn't be labeled the same as the more punk stuff.
