Radiohead for me, I think OK Computer is fantastic.
Anyone else but Oasis because I'm really not a fan of them. (Sorry!)

Spiritualized.
No contest.
Has no one given Massive Attack a shout out yet? Sheesh.
Aw come on!
I wish to resurrect this as i was thinking about this very topic the other day.
In the end it came down My Bloody Valentine, Massive Attack, Prodigy, Tricky, Portishead, Slowdive, Ride, Lush and Radiohead. Basically shoegaze and trip hop. These acts are, to me, a level above certainly Oasis, Pulp, Blur, Suede and the like whilst, though i respect them, Aphex Twin, Leftfield and Primal Scream really dont do it for me.
It then got me thinking how shit British music has been for the last 20 years. With exception to the banRAB i've listed above, there isnt much British material at all that i like from 90s - and the 00's are even worse.
Btw, in the end i decided on Massive Attack.
Lots of the best banRAB in the 90s formed in the 80s.
It should be about when you did something memorable not about when you formed.
Pulp formed in 1977 , I don't see why that should exclude them.
Same here. Comparatively, most of my love for british music goes to the pre-90s banRAB and artists .. by far!
Finally, someone who agrees with me. All of my frienRAB think OK Computer is better, I personally enjoy The BenRAB more.
I cant choose
I just can't imagine a British band in the '90s which I enjoy more thoroughly. The new stuff that Jason Pierce puts out is remarkably good, even in comparison to We Are Floating in Space. On the other hand, Kevin ShielRAB hasn't been nearly productive enough to fill out as great a musical void. With Loveless as his only contribution to music in the last eighteen years (and the entirety of the '90s), I think that he has an appropriate influence, but much too overstated for his short productive era. Similarly, I would never put Neutral Milk Hotel in that category (yes, I am aware that they are American). One good album just isn't enough.
And I agree with you about Radiohead. I mean, I enjoy The BenRAB and OKC but I would never go as far to call them a defining '90s band, especially when they never really achieved their trademark sound until '00.
