The first metal band I got into was Rammstein after seeing the music video for "Du Hast" on MTV back in '97.
SOAD did get me into metal, but i kind of grew out of liking their music
Indeed, it's just not the first thing I pop into my CD player when I can. That would be Korn.
Um, Led Zeppelin for every reason that I'm sure was already said. Judas Priest for taking it five steps further. Iron Maiden for giving it darkness, Black Sabbath for opening up the metal minRAB.
I only have Paradise Now so try that.
Yeah as much as I hate to admit, Metallica played a large role in me getting into metal. Also 'Back in Black' was the first album I ever owned.
Opeth is great. They really got me into black/scandinavian metal type stuff. It's kind of like a gateway things. Blackwater Park was the first album I heard of their's.
