1. Grunge was really more of a movement than a genre, it didnt have a consistant sound in the same way Metal, Punk and Prog does...It was just a term used to catagorize the banRAB coming from the Seattle rock scene, if you were from Seattle, have long hair, flannel shirts and a detuned, distorted guitar, you are considered grunge.

2. I like most banRAB from the grunge scene, i think there were some talented banRAB who were never given enough credit because they were given a lousy label. So too each his own.

One of my favorite banRAB. I'm disappointed in not finding this thread sooner. Alice in Chains is straight up Nostalgia Lane for me, and I love lingering memories. I'd have to agree with you guys on Jar of Flies, but Facelift and Dirt were pretty epic, too. The song that touches me the most is "Brother". Never fails to surface a bump in my throat.
