Aenima and stinkfist are probably in my top 100 songs
For now I listened to Opiate and Undertow.
I'm going a bit slow with Tool, it's just cause I got a lot of banRAB to listen to.
Opiate:
the first five are just average. I didn't get into them, enjoyable, but didn't catch my attention. As for Opiate (the track), it took me some time to sink into, but at the third minute I began to really like it. And the lyrics are pretty good too.
Tho my favorite of that EP is the hidden track "The Gaping Lotus Experience", which I loved! the flaw in it is that it's too short, I never listen to it without felling I have to listen to it again.
Undertow:
Much better than the EP, it's obvious that the studio album was professionally made. I actually liked every song. Still haven't listened to them much to feel which are my favorites.
> For now it's "Sober", "Disgustipated"
Still haven't listened to any song with Chancellor on base yet. I'm assuming it's gonna be much better than what I've listened for now, as felt like in a way the base was lacking in the EP and the album. And from what you've been talking in this thread, you all seem to agree on the greatness of Chancellor.
Will be filling you up soon ...
Understood....we all love tool, but a big tool love in probably doesn't make for the most exciting posts...
You obviously didn't read the part where he called someone an uptight fuck (could have been bitch, or cunt) and referred to his participation in this thread as a "fanboy wank party". Not to mention the previous deleted comment.
Yea, that was all part of his 'opinion'...
I agree the album experience is like nothing else, which is why I listen to albums. I just prefer the tight feel of a 45-50 minute album, and I feel that longer ones have a tendency to have a little filler here and there. Trimming the fat on some of these albums (even the slightest amount) could turn a 4.5-star album into a 5-star one. And yes I can pause an album and pick it back up later, but I usually prefer to do it in one sitting, and sometimes grow impatient. My attention span isn't what it used to be...even if it's a great album.
I realize that, but it has already been four years and they have historically taken four to five years to release a follow-up...
I found these...
1. Undertow
2.
I think the bass wrork on Undertow is pretty strong, personally.
^^^^ I agree. The bass is the only thing you could ever use to coax me into re-listening to a Tool album. The vocals and lyrics are definitely their weak point.
