They didn't have an album out yet 10 years ago. Their first (and my fav) was 1999.

^ I love Deer Dance.
So the songs arent from the new album?
I love System of a Down with a great deal of my being. They take up a good portion of my album collection, and like "Bub" said, they were the first metal band I listened to as a kid, and I've been hooked ever since.
I own Toxicity, Mezmerize (I think I do anyways), and the S/T and the S/T is by far their best work. Static-X is just better accept that and your life will be happier.
Valid but otherwise incorrect opinions.
System was and is one of the only banRAB of its type (and don't feed me nu-metal genre bullshit..that label is a misnomer and complete fucking insult). There is not another band I would compare System to. They were consistent innovators and the fact that they landed some radio play isn't any reason not to listen to them. Admittedly, some of their earlier works lacked melodic structure, but they were provocative enough. And as the band grew, it became more and more interesting to hear Serj develop his vocal talents and Daron blossom into the amazing songwriter and musician he is today. You can hate the fans as long as you like, but you must have your head interred several feet up your ass if you can't hear the brilliance in the carefully constructed harmonies and impressive melodies.
SOAD were an acquired taste for me, but you can't deny that they're pretty good. Deer Dance has to be one of my favorites.
What's the deal though, have they split up, or just taken a break? I know Serj Tankian has started a solo career, what about the others?
I'll have to get round to hearing it.
if i could i would go to brooklyn, and whip your arse into shape boy, cause u need some positive reinforcement
Yeahccause Toxicity is good.
Hypnotize, Mesmerize they suck. Lyrically they've regressed.
I know I'm not the only one ti sense this, but haven't you guys noticed that the lyrics to Mesmerize and Hypnotize are rather catchy?
I liked their stuff when it didn't have that annoying catchiness to it.
I think that's why Mesmerize and Hypnotize aren't as appealing as their earlier stuff. It's like an experiment that blew up in their face or something
