I have an older Blackberry Curve (not that old, maybe two years) that I got from my sister who bought a new phone and doesn't use it anymore. I put in my SIM card to try it out and the next day I received a text message saying that AT&T has added a data plan for it. I went to an AT&T store to cancel it and put my SIM card back into my own phone, and they said that every time you put your SIM card into a smart phone, it automatically gets a data plan added, but since I'm not using the Blackberry, they canceled it. I also know that you can cancel data plans after the first month if you want a smart phone but don't want the data plan.
If I was to put my SIM card in the Blackberry again and go to AT&T to cancel the data plan that will automatically pop up without taking the SIM card out of the Blackberry, would they know? Last time they didn't ask to see it or anything.
