Can you stop a text after sending it

With other phones, you can press end or cancel and the text will not go through. Is there a way to do this with either Message or any custom app? I always type to fast and press send and then see that a word is wrong or i forgot punctuation that makes the text hard to decipher. Any help? Thanks.

PS I have the Moto Droid and I love it.

I believe that if your hands a quick enough you can long press it and hit delete...this has worked for me in the past but I wouldn't count on it as the messages send quick, other than that None that I am aware of
