fido doesn't sell any of the bolds but i want this phone was planning on buying it and then getting it unlocked or whatever so that i can put my fido sim card in but im wondering if that will even work?

Hi, yes that'll work for sure. Fido supports the same frequency as the 9780 does. If you get it unlocked, I suggest using 3dollarunlock.com btw as it's really cheap and reliable.
