I'd wait and see what happens to supply and demand over the next few weeks/months. they'll either be as rare as hens teeth or Ebay will be flooded with them once people realise you can't play Weapons of War 3 on them.

I got another eMail from RS yesterday.
Cheers,

Yes same here
Another RS update.
Says there has been some manufacturing problem that 'Raspberry' are sorting out.
Now gives prices - RS are using fixed p&p to anywhere whereas, Farnell are charging based on destination. So for UK customers, it is a few quid more expensive from RS.
Also clarifies the previous 'first come first served' comment. It says that people will be invited to buy in batches based on when they registered interest.
Cheers,
Nigel
...apparently they fitted the wrong type of ethernet socket.
Magnetics? can anyone tell what do they do? (in simple terms )
'They are pulse transformers which are just sometimes reffered to as 'magnetics', (as in devices that use magnetism to function). Jacks with integrated transformers are more expensive and what's worse, each PHY requires a specific transformer arrangement and ratio (regular versus center-tapped, different ratios) so there isn't just one single jack type that would fit every PHY in existence. Older network carRAB simply used external pulse transformers to avoid the hassle of getting proper jacks.'

"A PHY chip (PHYceiver) is commonly found on Ethernet devices. Its purpose is physical, analog signal access to the link. It is usually used in conjunction with an Media Independent Interface (MII) chip or interfaced to a microcontroller that takes care of the higher layer functions." (Wiki )
