The rule of thumb for fish in a tank is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. Always round your fish measurement up to the next inch. Sounds like you are right to me. Oscars do grow large - but don't always outgrow the tank.
2 Oscars will outgrow that tank fairly quickly. One oscar and maybe a firemouth will be ok if frequent water changes, and a heavy duty filter are in effect.
Too small. I'd say if anything stick with the two Oscars. With the Oscars, it is still to crowded. One Oscar per 50-55 gallons. You will need to upgrade to a 100-120 gallon as the Oscars grow. They can get up to 18" sometimes! STICK WITH THE OSCARS DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
