Do you know any good books?

I have to read a book over the summer and I don't know what book to read. So do you know any good books that I could read?
But please not too thick books (maximum probably about 400 pages)

Oh, and I'm in Junior High if you need to know that...

    Thank youu! :]

I'm recommending the Tales of the Otori series by Lian Hearn to all the teens I work with who read for fun. The first book is called Across The Nightingale Floor and is based in a Japanese-style world where a boy gets adopted into a feudal lord's family. It's a very exciting and very sensitively written series, and a very easy read. It's got romance, warfare, a quest. Its brilliant.

Here are a bunch of good ones:

    Realistic Fiction:
-Take Me There by Susane Colasanti (romance)
-When It Happens by Susane Colasanti (romance)
    -Forever by Judy Blume (romance)
    -The Clique Series
-It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (444 pages)
-Sharing Sam (not sure of the author)
-Something To Blog About (not sure of the author)
    -Being Bindy by Alyssa Brugman

    Science Fiction:
-Virtual World (not sure of the author)
-The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
-The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau (sequel to the previous)

    Historical Fiction:
-My Brother Sam Is Dead (not sure of the author)
-Number The Stars (not sure of the author)

    Fantasy:
-Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling (some of these may be a little long if you're looking for nothing bigger than 400 pages)
    -Coraline by Neil Gaiman

These are all really good books. They are all under 400 pages unless I wrote otherwise.

I would assume that you would enjoy all of these.

Anything by Meg Cabot would be great for your age. Her books are for teens and preteens. They're fun, funny, interesting, and not too thick.

I agree with the person above that suggested the Tales of the Otori series. It's not widely known so you won't have tons of people reading the same thing, so if you have to write a report, your teacher will probably appreciate a little variety.
