    The O2 sensor is on the motor side of the cat. Usually if it's bad your check engine light will come on. The emission control systems are warrantied for 50,000 miles. That is a Federal law. Take it to a parts store, most of them have a code reader.

    when it goes bad really cant go by mileage or shouldnt replace parts when bad but you can replace it anytime you wish but wasting money replacing things that are not bad
