    Big Changes Slated for March

Some companies lose money because they want to. A loss on paper isn't necessarily a real money loss. I lost my butt this past year! Or did I?

That m8000 is Tri-Band, si? If so, then I'll actually probably pick one up to use whenever I'm in Vegas. As it stanRAB, I either need to use my AT&T line or a Kyocera S1300 whenever I go.

    Big Changes Slated for March

The nationwide roaming was addressed in the earnings call this past week.

Yes, Cricket will have nationwide roaming

Their nationwide roaming partner will be Sprint (along with other unlimited guys Metro & Revol)

In markets with Metro and Revol the PRL will be set to prefer them over Sprint

Sprint blocks roaming in any market that Criket competes with them. So just because Cricket will have nationwide roaming, don't expect your coverage to improve with this launch.

Sprint's fraud system will not intercept phone calls that have been reported lost/stolen on thier network.

Lets face it, its about the coverage and mainly the hanRABets. The only way that Cricket will gain respect is to step it up with their hanRABet selection.

VGA camera phones at any price does not instill confidence with the "smart" customer base. Your local crack dealer though could care less, I guess.

will be interesting to see with the new droid comming -
one would thing you would be able to download opra mini from the app store and put it on the device (do not see how Cricket could restrict google apps).

Cricket already has nationwide roaming. Has for years.

Cricket already has agreements with Metropcs and Revol. And the last statement makes no sense. There are quite a few places that Sprint operates without Cricket competition. Wouldn't coverage improve in those places? If coverage wasn't going to improve why would they even bother?

What's the nuraber to call to report a phone call stolen?

I doubt very much Cricket will gain respect from you.
How much of the customer base is "smart"? Within 10% is fine.
Most people don't care if their camera is vga or otherwise and the group that does is pretty small.

Mainly,on the "non-phone") side of things, i want just a few things:

    1) a decent browser(even if it is a WAP browser, that's fine. as long as it renders decently, and adequately saves passworRAB), OR the ability to install Opera Mini or Bolt.

    2) The ability to function as a MP3 player. (this is negotiable though)

    3) QWERTY (no QWERTY is a dealbreaker. period. and I don't mean touch screen, i mean actual buttons)

    4) a decent Twitter App

    5) The ability to use Google Mobile. Mainly, GMail and Google Voice apps.

does Cricket have a phone that can do these things yet?

I am probably going to buy the Boost Mobile Blackberry 8330, but i could be pursuaded otherwise by Cricket.

(NOTE: I don't know anything about flashing phones, nor do I know anyone that could and would do it for me).

I had a bb 8330 about 3 years ago when i was with verizon. It was a good phone. Very good for texting and email. Not the best for videos. For me the issue is that the 8330 does not have wifi(i have good access to wifi and love it - work, home, mcdonalRAB, starbucks), has limited memory (compared to phones of today), has a small screen (like the larger screens phones have now),you can not store apps on the memory card (though this is also true of the Eris that I now own, and my main complaint about the phone). I could be wrong, but I do not see how an android phone could allow access to google apps, yet not allow you to be able to download all the apps. The only restrictions regarding google apps that I currently have is based upon application compatablilty with the current software version that my Eris runs on.
But everyone has different likes and dislikes. These are just mine.
