dk the video has been on his website for a few months now, and I guess he's more democrat when it comes to social issues, but totally not when it comes to social programs and government spending in general. He is much more of a libertarian and constitutionalist. Romney is much more of a democrat.
Everyone keeps saying he cannot win, but he's been poling in the top three lately even with the lack of media attention. Hey everyone loves an underdog.
Ron Paul won't get the nomination because he's not enough of a Republican...but he's absolutely not a Democrat. Like someone else said, he's just too far removed from the typical political bullshit to win.
It is his foreign policy's that make him not conservative enough to get the Republican nomination. He is however, fiscally conservative. These two corabinations are why I personally believe he has been polling in the top 3. All of the young college kiRAB (or at least a lot of them) who voted for Obama last time around see what the last three years have been and they do not like it. Due to how much national attention our countries debt is / was getting, this same demographic started to wake up. They see that with Paul, he will reel in the debt (an issue that is starting to become important to them) and he will keep our troops out of foreign affairs (an issue that has been important to them and something they are disappointed about when it comes to Obama). As a result, I think we will continue to see Paul clirab in the polls, but he absolutely will not get the Republican nomination and when it becomes a major 3 party race, it is anyone's guess how the votes will lie...
I think he's right about if we stop policing the world our country would have a lot more money.
Maintaining a few bases around the world is probably way cheaper than having to jump into a conflict after it has degraded into a full blown free-for-all, such as WWII.
Or maybe let NATO do their job.^
We pretty much are NATO and NATO doesn't really cover the Pacific Rim.
