Lucero "That Much Further West"
Was stalking Savannah's profile because I haven't seen her around in a long while and noticed that Lucero is her favorite band. So I looked them up, downloaded this album, and I'm really enjoying it.

^ Part of a much less-exciting string of releases in the 70s, this one's actually alright. As the title may suggest, it's an album of Scott Walker singing a bunch of movie themes, including those of the Godfather, Mary Queen Of Scots and Sunflower, and he does a decent job with the majority of them too.
^ And here's a 3-disc compilation you can set your watch to :thurab:
wow, that dan deacon stuff is really good.
I felt the same way. I've never really been a huge Moby fan, but the newest album really made me reconsider giving the guy another shot.
My album of the week:
"Twin Cinema"-The New Pornographers.
rockin' blend of modern pop and indie inventiveness. If Bowie and Cheap Trick decided to do a split with Matt Sharp, I predict that it would sound a lot like this Canadian super-group.
Good stuff.
Also, check out "Mass Romantic" and "Challengers"--both very solid albums.
Just having a Robeson moment. A model human being and unrivalled as the voice of the century IMO (in the bass department at least); one of the few people I could honestly call a hero.
This record is mostly just him accompanied by piano singing folk tunes from around the world, songs of struggle and partisanship for the most part.
This was a song of the Spanish Loyalists

I can't even describe this. Just go get it now.
Self Explanatory.
The most diverse album I have heard, always a fun listen-through.
I have been looking for this Pop/Rock cheesefest for a long time and finally found it tonight! Brings back some memories!
Not like Opeth but if you like them then you will love this. Add a violin and Female vocals and you have a hugely underrated Prog Metal album.
This has always been my favourite Collins era Genesis track. Chilling!

Checking out this 2001 EP for the first time, I like it quite a bit.
