Sweet.
Now go watch it and come back and say thank you.
It may be against popular opinion, but I MUCH prefer the voices of Isaac and Miria in the subbed version. For me that is the only let down from the dub so far.
And now I present myself to be flamed......
Ok so I received it today. I watched the first episodes and I am just asking WTF? I am confused to what is actually going on. Is this a common reaction from the first episode?
No.
Thats the common reaction to the first 8 episodes.
And I'll take the subs as well. I was just really surprised at how good the dub was.
Very much so. Baccano! has a large cast of characters that takes awhile to introduce. It also jumps around in time, as it presents many different events that eventually become relative to one another. If you relate anime to games, then most anime would be side-scrollers, where everything comes at you in a linear fashion; Baccano!, however, would be an open-world RPG with many different quests which take you all over the map.
This is an anime where you have to pay attention if you want to understand what's going on, and even then, you have to understand that won't understand until the puzzle pieces begin falling into place.
Definently. As ICare posted above, get to about ep 7-8 and things start to make sense. And the awesomeness becomes more apparent.
I just finished Baccano! and loved every moment of it XD I am glad that a lot of my frienRAB had told me how much they liked it before I started watching it. I think I would have stopped after the first episode if they hadn't because I get confused REALLY easily. But it was totally worth following it to the end and I got the hang of the constant time skips eventually.
i wasnt a huge fan of Ep.1 because nothing made sense at all. but it was cool to watch the whole show then go back to ep 1 and do the whole "oh yeah" kinda deal heh.
i really liked this a ton, and i thought the dub writing was really good. better than most i would say. as far as cast i dont have any complaints, not the most amazing ever, but definitely some highlights. fav line: "good thing nobody got dead"
I finished the main season of the show and one of the OVA's I liked it a lot. And while I am sure a lot of people found Isaac and Miria annoying, I enjoyed every second of there screen time. I enjoyed every single character in the show and I really like how they went from time to time and then the train to the very end where they wrapped up everything. Definitely was worth the $30.
