Which sat provider is more east facing?

At one of the places I lived in Edmonton, my blacony faced East, and I was able to catch expressvu, so if your in Van, your dish should point even further east then here, so i dont see why not, as long as you see i good portion of the south from your balcony and clear to the east, youll be fine. Its probably around the Saks\Man border where the dish is dead on south and as you continue going east you start facing the dish towards the west. starchoice's straigh the south is closer the ab\sask border.

Smaller dish equals lower signal gain. Lower look angle means more atmosphere for signal to penetrate through, thus greater chances of rain fade. Vancouver isn't exactly known for sunny skies especially this time of year. Former SC sub for 5 years, current BEV sub for 5 years. Experienced both. Fanboi of neither. Now back on topic. If the OP wants BEV he is certainly not making a mistake going that route and I wouldn't try to talk him out of it. Just pointing out some facts about satellite tv in general he should be aware of.

Which sat provider is more east facing?

Keep in mind that Bell sats have a very low look angle from the west coast + subject to rain fade
