It'd be neat if they had that button do more than just a second shutter button, like maybe a voice key that also quickly switched to loudspeaker like the 6630 had.

My initial observations so far on the N70.
1. It's probably the best 3rd party supported Symbian phone after 6600 and 6630.
2. Battery life is short, like most all Symbian phones.
3. The camera is really brilliant at natural lighting but is bad at incandescent lighting. Heck, even 6600's night mode is more competitive.
4. The processor is really good. N70 probably runs some ngage games faster than ngage itself. Asphalt 1 runs sooooo smooth.
5. The latest firmware is the bomb.
6. It's probably not that much recommendable to upgrade MMC to 1gig. There would be a visible slowdown at that level.
7. It's definitely the best looking phone of the N-series.
Hey guys, I'm looking for a software that will cut mp3's so that i can use them as ringtones for the n70. Got any recommendations?
1. It's the best 3rd party supported series 60 phone after 6600 and 6630.
2. It actually looks elegant unlike some of the experimental ("fugly") series 60 phones, which are a lot, BTW.
3. It has the best support for Ngage games in the N series
LOL time to invest in those A2DP Bluetooth headphones
I'm not sure if it's officially released yet here. New symbian phones here follow the standard international pircing, which starts at around $500-$600, only to drop months later.
Why don't you use SmartMovie? That's the best app for converting and playing videos on the N70.
www.waveflow.com
www.mediamonkey.com
Use media monkey to convert any cd track (or audio file) to wave.
Use waveflow to edit the wave file
Use media monkey again to convert that wave to mp3.
I found something interesting on the web.
Wanna impress your friends with N70's mp4 playback?
Try this
http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html#Dnload
Download this video converter and convert any video to an MP4 format, playable to N70.
My current settings for N70 mp4 conversion (use this especially if you'll convert music videos)
Output Container: MP4 (Mpeg-4)
Output video codec: Mpeg-4
Output Audio Codec: AAC
Video Resolution: 352x288 (VHS resolution-the default resolution of the N70 MP4 recorder)
Aspect: 4:3
Frame Rate: 15
Video Bitrate: 192
Audio Sampling Frequency: 44100
Channels: 2
Audio Bitrate: 96
I too noticed that the phone slowed down with a 1 gig minisd, which is why i had to downgrade to the 512. However, I find that the 512 is more than enough for my needs as I don't watch films on my phone like some people do. I just need it for the pictures, mp3's, and video taking.
Furthermore, I think the N70 is one of the best phones out there, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world....well except for a Ferrari Enzo
