Start with Killers, Piece Of Mind, Powerslave, Somwhere In Time in that order.
These are Maiden's 4 best IMO.
Nuraber of the Beast has some of their most popular stuff but quality wise it isn't in their top 5.
I'm actually really familiar with the album, and yeah it is great, but I'd kinda' forgot about it, because I lost it in a hard drive crash a few months ago. I'll definitely check out Baroness
I've heard of it...
*goes and listens*
It's pretty good.
I am a huge fan of Strapping Young Lad primarily The New Black. It is a lot heavier than anything off of Addicted though. You should give it a try anyways.
That Ministry album was way out of character for them, I wouldn't use it as a reference point for their sound.
I was thinking something more virtuoso-like...
Ive mentioned this song before..and I like it so well I just have to post the link, I do know that it was on a soundtrack off one of the movie sequels 'The Crow'.
YouTube - Hurt - Rapture
Hammock`s advice is pretty good but my favourite two by them are "Twilight in Olympus" and "V:The New Mythology Suite" A couple of great albums and well recommended. Remeraber, Symphony X are heavily symphonically influenced, so if you don`t like Symphonic metal you may not like them.
I'm looking for black metal more than anything.
I have some but looking for more (focusing predominantly on synths/keyboarRAB/piano if possible)
