So...same as everyone else...V107 would not take. New receiver arrived today. Low and behold, V104. (No real surprise to be honest). They swapped machines from Bell's end, within 15minutes machine was 'downloading vital program information' and with that came V107.
One thing I noticed...bootstrap version of current machine is 1416GEMD...quite certain it was different on V104 machine.

PS: They called back 2hours later to ensure all was good.

So far so good. Fingers crossed V107 is as good as expected. ;-)

I noticed that in V104 there is a debug screen in "Diagnostics":

    [Menu] -> 6 -> 3 -> Counters

There are 17 items listed in the Diagnostic Tests window. Use the page up/down buttons to scroll through them.

    Here they are:

    01) Watchdogs:
    02) Boot Recoveries:
    03) AC Power losses:
    04) Queue Filled:
    05) Queue ID:
    06) Authorized Services:
    07) Successful Downloads:
    08) Previous Software:
    09) Lost Locks:
    10) Modulator Resets
    11) Last Connect:
    12) Caller ID Successess:
    13) CID Current Failures:
    14) PLM State:
    15) SMS Status:
    16) SMS Delay:
    17) 911 Count:

Not sure what they all mean, but interesting never the less....

    Official 3200 Thread

Picked one up on the 27th (F&F sale). Set it up today. Works good. So far I'm only running one tuner but will connect the second in a couple of days.

    Edit:

Just wanted to add that the Screensaver is wreaking havoc on my ReplayTV. It pops up after 4 hrs of inactivity, and after every guide update. When the the replay goes to record, it ends up recording the Screensaver instead of the channel. PITA!!

Since I got the update I have tried everything and I cannot make it crash, leave off all night , leave off all day, switch on switch off , caller ID working. guide update working(3am default setting).even tried timers they work (first time for me) So far I am happy and when it comes to watching TV no one should have a problem.

Whilst this may go against general experience, I can confirm that caller ID and the ability to update guide overnight without locking receiver are both working with the two 3200's I have - both of which are now v103. Caller ID works with both tuners in each receiver

I was also able to get the "search" function going on one, by doing a "memory dump"

    Menu-6-3
    Info-Browse-theme (memory dump screen appears)
    press info again
    Unplug to complete process

So I cannot find anything wrong with either receiver apart from ITV not working (so far!!!)

The caller ID is "slower" on the 3200 (appears after second ring) vs. a 5800 (appears between first and second)

Another issue here may be the date of manufacture
This can be deduced from the number under the upper barcode on the bottom of the receiver

    See this link
    http://ekb.dbstalk.com/146

the receivers I have are numbered
    RBXGCPxxxxxG (returned)
RBXGCPxxxxxG (required memory dump to get search going)
    RBXGCPxxxxxK (the replacement reciver)

I have replaced my unique numbers with x's

From the link above, I reckon the "P" (7th last character) represents 2004 - they probably skipped "O" as they skipped "I"
So the G receivers were made in July 2004 (altho purchased in the $99 sale around Xmas), and the K receiver was made in December 2004 - at the time that Expressvu discontinued them - so it looks like they are getting "new" ones in for replacement, or at least I got one

Date of manufacturer may have nothing to do with it, but I assume they do make modifciations thru production, and I would not expect Expressvu to tell us this - interested to hear from others who may have an earlier date of manufacture

That was an old post of mine, before the v104 update. The 3200 is working much better now, but it is still not perfect. So, the Dish Pro Quad had nothing to do with it.

I find with the 3200, that if it loses power and then reboots it may lock up once or twice within the next couple of days, then it's okay again. I have learned to reset it with the power button when this happens, that way you don't unplug it and start the cycle all over again.
