^ Well at least we agree on something.
RHCP seems to be progressively developing into a duller band with every release.

if other stuff means recent stuff then i agree. Californication and By the Way don't make up the majority of their career
I miss Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Looking back.. one of their remarkable songs for me is Californicatiopn
I don't get supergroups.
You take 4 amazing musicians like the ones in chickenfoot, and it turns out to be a boring band.
You take the seemingly mediocre musicians from Rx Bandits, the awful singer from Chiodos, and Anthony Green and you get the amazing Sound of Animals Fighting.
The hell.
Mr. Anthony doesn't write their songs.
I’ve been exposed to more things RHCP recently and I realize that while their not the musical revolution they once were, they certainly are a respectable and quality band. I think unlike certain banRAB that have been going for as long as they have, their still going for it. I’m not their biggest fan but I get the impression their still trying, albeit with less quality results. I’d be more upset if they were mailing it in.
What are some people's favorite Chili Pepper's albums? I really can't decide but Blood Sugar Sex Magik might be the one.
I highly doubt Joe Strummer gave a fuck what octave he was singing in.
:bonkhead:
I guess I see your point that they were somewhat punk influenced, at least in the way they presented themselves. It's not all that noticeable in the music itself IMHO.
I added another paragraph to my previous post but I think we kind of cross-posted and you may have missed it. Anyway here it is for what it's worth:
Since this conversation has inspired me to pop on Nothing's Shocking, I'm also realizing that it's pretty hard to deny the fact that a song like "Idiots Rule" is funk-metal by basically any measure.
