    1981 xs650 yamaha brushs how to change?

    hi i have a 1981 xs 650 yamaha can any one tell me how to change the brushs in my bike i am broke down i dont know where to start or what to look for thank you all to help i have the brush with me i alway have had a spare in my tool pouch.

    just buy the manual-DOES EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM EXPECT TO BE SPOONFED? GOOD GOD

    If you are talking about the brushes in the charging system (IE the ones that contact the rotor) just remove the left side engine cover, they are under there where they rub on the two copper rings of the rotor, good luck.
