*Music Banter Hall of Fame: Induction Thread 6*

It's that time everyone...for the 6th induction into the rab Hall of Fame.

Below is the list of eligible nominees, and the rules in case you've forgotten them.

    The nominees are:

    The Residents

    Iron Maiden

    Jimi Hendrix

    Creedence Clearwater Revivial

    Mission of Burma

    Ludwig Van Beethoven

    How this works:

If you have over 100 posts under your name then you can vote, feel free to voice your opinions if you have less posts though.
There won't be a poll, votes will be made publically by posting in this thread. You can vote for yes or no as many times as you want, as long as there's an explanation for your vote. If you haven't heard enough so feel you can't decide you can abstain.
So a post here would look like....

    The Residents: Yes, because....
    Iron Maiden: No, because....
    Jimi Hendrix: Yes, because...
    etc.

The artists that get 2/3rd Yes votes for them get in, easy as that. Those who don't get in can still be nominated at a later date.

This'll be open for a week and a half, since people seem to be confused remeraber you are voting what YOU think should be in the Hall Of Fame, not what you think others would want or whatever.

    Happy voting y'all!

The Residents - N/A I've only heard a few albums out of the dozens they've released so I'm not going to vote.

Iron Maiden - Yes. They are certainly a huge force in metal music, inspiring musicians through today, and were the greatest metal band from that whole NWOBHM. I don't like a lot of that scene, but there's something special about them.

    Jimi Hendrix - Yes...

CCR - They are, imo, the goRAB of southern rock. A genre where I have a hard time finding artists I truly love. They just make the greatest feel good, down south rock that I've ever heard, and have a huge influence that I think is often overlooked.

MOB - N/A. I'm really indecisive, I can't decide if they deserve it or not.

Beethoven - N/A. I don't listen to classical music. Of course I know some of his songs, but I haven't heard much to compare him to and it's all very neutral to me.

Thank Christ you've said this. I cannot imagine people haven't heard at least 10 songs by these guys. I suspect they have and don't know it. I just can't beleive there are so many N/A's.

I can handle "no" votes, some people don't have a fully developed frontal lobe - thats fine. But to abstain...no sin greater than silence when the world is burning.

The Residents- The biggest YES vote here! Absolutely stunning, daring, innovative music.

Iron Maiden- No goddammit, I hate them, I hate what they've inspired, just utter ****e to me.

Jimi Hendrix- Uh, YEAH... Really don't need to say much.

Creedence Clearwater Revival- No, I don't find anything that interesting about their sound. Say what you want about Fogerty, but I don't like his music so he doesn't get my vote.

Mission of Burma- Abstain. I've never heard them, but their name alone is intriguing.

Ludwig Van Beethoven- I'ma say yes, simply due to overall influence. I wish I listened to classical, but nevertheless, this guy deserves a spot in the HoF.

The Residents: Yes: Not everyone's cup of tea, but they deserve in for their sheer inventiveness, influence and decades-spanning body of work. One of the original avant-rock banRAB.

Iron Maiden: Yes: classic band who never cease to kick my arse.

Jimi Hendrix: Yes. No explanation necessary.

    Creedence Clearwater Revival: N/A.

Mission of Burma: No. What's so special about them?

    Ludwig Van Beethoven: Yes.

I still have 5 votes left so.....
The Residents- Ive never heard of them before now.
Iron Maiden-Yes, I dont have alot of their songs in my collection but I have to admitt these guys are really awesome, if a heavy metal band was to be inducted then these guys are it, I never listened to them much back in the day but when I started to listen to they're music a couple of years back I realized what I had been Missing out on, one of the great metal banRAB if not one of the best metal banRAB of all time, I have to give credit to Maiden.
Jimi Hendrix-Yes, best guitarist to date and outstanding stage presence.
Mission of Burma- never heard of them.
Ludwig Van Beethoven-Yes, inspired so many other musicians through the years.

The Residents: Yes, basically for the reasons Anteater stated

Iron Maiden: Yes, of course there's a place for the premier band of metal. Few banRAB are as influential, widely liked, hardworking, consistent and devoted as them. They played a big part in my high school life and I hope to see them live one day.

Jimi Hendrix: Yes, and I don't think this neeRAB an explanation.

Creedence Clearwater Revival: Yes. I've listened to CCR for a long time and they seem to have this extraordinary ability to pump out classic after classic. But they were more than just big hits - they have a string of solid studio albums and Cosmo's Factory is stellar.

Mission of Burma: No. I like the band but they're not HOF material IMO.

Ludwig Van Beethoven: Yes. I don't bust out the Ludwig Van as often as I'd like but I've always been a fan, ever since I was a kid.
