I own a 1996 dodge avenger 2.0L, 5 speed. I don't know if it's worth it because it has 199,000 on it. I take great care of it and keep up with all the necessary repairs. I want to put performance parts on it and replace most of the stock parts. I also want to put a decent body kit on it. My budget is about 2000-3000 dollars. Any ideas or alternatives would be great.

I would put in new plugs wires and spark plugs and change the fuel filter for starters. I wouldn't spend 3 grand on a car worth $1,000.

It's never a good idea to spend more money on a car than the car's worth. I say take your 3k and your Avenger and put it down on something worth your time. Not meaning to down your ride, I just have a personal grudge against Chrysler products.

if your car is well maintained and runs wonderfully dont mod it or at most use good plugs and wires/coils and maybe put in a cold air intake other than that dont mess with anything. nothing wrong with an older car that runs well.
