EDGE and Bluetooth are all I need

my trusty rusty t610 is about to die, I'm wondering which phone to get next?

basically my 2 big requirements are Bluetooth and EDGE. After that, Im looking for a phone that has a simple interface (I never liked the t610 interface but got used to it), well-implemented text messaging (by now I'm assuming that's a given, but every phone I had prior to the t610 sucked for messaging), and is sturdy and has a nice design.

I'm also in Los Angeles, is there a place to buy phones here other than what tmobile is selling that would work? My preference for technology is simple, good looking, and works after you tweak it once. Once I set it up I want to never have to touch it again ;-)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was looking at the samsung t809 but it seems like people are unhappy with it.
