I have an HP Pavilion laptop. It claims there is a bluetooth adapter built in...?

...but it can't "discover" my phone! It's frustrating me. I have a Pantech Slate...
    Any ideas??

Do you need to switch the bluetooth to an ON position?

My bluetooth just works, and I did not do anything with it.

Make sure the bluetooth on your phone is switched on first, then if not, make sure the bluetooth on your computer is switched on.

may seem a little obvious to some but...

doubly make sure that the bluetooth aerial on the computer is on and working (there should be a bluetooth aerial in the system tray near the clock in the bottom right hand corner) if this is not there then you need to activate the bluetooth before you can use it

now make sure that the phones bluetooth is on and not hidden

now try and discover the phone and it should work
