First of all, make sure your playing thru a tube amp. Thats where the best tone lies. But The Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer is THE overdrive pedal for blues guitar. Nothing else! They're often imitated but never duplicated. Not the TS-9 Reissue but the Original TS-808. Good enough for Stevie Ray it's good enough for me.

Blues Guitarists: What overdrive or distortion pedal do you feel suits the blues best?

Any overdrive or distortion pedal is fine, but please do include the brand name and model name as well. For instance, if your choice is the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, don't just answer with "Blues Driver" and, instead, say "Boss Blues Driver" or "Boss BD-2 Blues Driver."

Also, if you don't play plays but know of a pedal that would suit the blues, feel free to answer!
