I edit videos with Windows Media Player and when you save it, it saves it as this weird file that cannot be read by Youtube, or any other program. What is a universal thing I can save it as so it can be uploaded on Youtube, or anywhere else ? How do I do this?

I assume you mean Windows Movie Maker, not Windows Media Player. Don't save it normally, go to File and click Save Movie File. Tell it to save to your computer. That file should upload correctly to YouTube.
