    My eyeliner smells like paint?

Does this mean its gone bad? I've had it for about 4 months but I barely used it..

    Time to throw it out?
    BTW. It's liquid eyeliner.
I don't really remember what it smelled like when I first opened it. I generally don't sniff my beauty products unless they're scented purposely. =)

Yep, it's time to throw it away.
Makeup generally has a shelf life of 3-6 months from the day you open it. The biggest indicator of toss-time is a change in smell or consistency.
If it smells differently than it did when you first opened it, or if it is thicker or thinner or has separated, it is definitly time to toss!

You can keep a liquid eyeliner for 6-8 months esp if you have hardly used it as long as it is not hard and lumpy it will be fine
