Why do you think this "super congress" will agree to tax increases? Particularly in light of both McConnell and Boener saying they won't be putting anyone in there who would agree to a tax imcrease?

Unless you are saying they will simplify the tax code and lose loopholes and lower rates...which I bellieve both sides want. And this would be a good vehicle to do that.

Win/win, as far as I can see. But 150 billion a year isn't really enough. Especially since they can't include the costs of Iraq or Afghanistan in any of those cuts...so you know more expense will be allocated there. I'm not sure what the deal is with Obama's war in Libya.
