They can receive text from other cricket phones, but from other networks only the first letter shows.

Hey guys been a while, i searched this but can seem to find anything specific to my issue. I have a samsung moment flashed to cricket. It has firmware version 2.1 build Meatkernel v2 sdx-developers kernel 2.1.29 today i started getting most my text in syrabols. seems as tho people can get my texts fine but i can not receive them in English. So two part question is first what can i do to fix this? Maybe delete something? Or can i reset the phone? im not sure how to reset it to factory default. Or my second option... is there a way to reset to cupcake?
Cricket was less then helpful on this and could not help me. they assured me this was a hand set issue and not a network problem i had them refresh my phone anyhow. Any info is vary greatly appreciated as all i do is text. thanks
I booted into recovery and erased data/delvik cache, then installed noobnl-Radioactive-FroYo-romv1.8.6, and the problem was gone.
Yeah ive seem a couple q with the same problem lately. Refreshing account does nothing to solve the problem. Get a new phone moto q are a PoS.

Ok so finally found this issue. I guess it was wide spread with sprint Moment phones on Dec 1st. It puzzles me why my cricket network is being effected and 22 days after they fixed the sprint issues.
My friend hinted that there was a fix using a 3rd party chat client. Anyone know about this?

I've been having the same issue with my Moto Q for the past 5 days. I've been using the Q with Cricket for 3+ years and never had a problem with any feature of the service.
Telephone customer support is useless. They have no time-frame for a fix. Frustrating enough to make me want to switch carriers.
I'm seeing the garbled text too on the moments. Any insight on this nsomnia_redline? I'm gonna master reset it and I'll let you know what I come up with
Master Reset was a no-go for fixing the sms problem. Back to the drawing board
