what's an example of a civilization that (keep reading)...?

what's an example of a civilization that, after having conquered several lands, became more and more power hungry and hungry to get more and more land and riches? Can the Roman civilization be an example? If so, what are some others? I need to make a comparison of Rome with another civilization.

Rome is one. Aztecs, Incas, Russians, Mongols, Huns and Turks all were like this.

if you want examples of empires that grew because they were hungry for land and power and not that this hunger brought them down, then i would say that every empire that ever became empire in all of history would serve as an example because if it were not for hunger for power, wealth, and land they would not have become empires in the first place. if you want an example of power and land hunger that brought down an empire i would say that it was the mongols. they stretched themselves too far to sustain and eventually collapsed under the weight of their empire. the roman empire collapsed because of internal strife and civil war not because it grew too large.

ummm, i think the Incan civilization was like that...other than that, im not sure....im not too sure about the Incans myself lol.

if the British Empire works as a "civilization"....then you could use that as well.

others are French, Spanish, Mongols, etc.
